It was reported that there were approximately 100 people in attendance when numerous gunshots were fired by several subjects striking victims that were caught in the crossfire. Most witnesses left the scene prior to police arrival, but an image was captured by citizen showing two vehicles potentially involved in the shooting. The vehicles are described as a white SUV and a grey Dodge Charger with racing stripes.

The vehicle appears to be a silver or grey colored Mercury Grand Marquis (approximate year: 2004). The vehicle also shows light colored stock rims with the exception of the rear, driverโs side, which appears to be black.

On November 16, 2018, avid hunter Chong Moua Yang was shot and killed while hunting on the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Rose Lake State Game Area. The investigation is still ongoing and police have continued working diligently to track down all leads and to provide the Yang family with the answers and closure they deserve but they still need your help.
Items suspected to be in Mr. Yangโs possession prior to his death include a shotgun, backpack, and a traditional Hmong hunting knife have not yet been recovered. The Bath Township Police Department is seeking information related to the homicide of 68 year old Chong Yang. Mr. Yang was shot and killed while hunting in the Rose Lake State Game Area, in Bath Township, on the evening of November 16th, 2018.
The police have not located Mr. Yangโs firearm and other items that were believed to be on his person prior to his death. Those items are described as:
-Remington Model 1100 semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun. This firearm has a black stock & forearm along with a scope.
-Unknown color of backpack, which may contain a traditional Hmong hunting knife, snacks, ropes and misc. other items.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black hoodie, camouflage pants, a black mask covering his facial area, and black shoes. The suspect appears to be carrying a sawed-off shotgun.

Police are trying to identify a subject that broke into two businesses on the 500 and 700 blocks of East Grand River Avenue in the City of Lansing. The break-ins occurred in the early morning hours of November 22. The accused arrived on foot and is described as an unknown male, 6โ1โ with a thin build, and wearing a white colored mask, dark sweatpants with gray/red racing stripes down the side, a red hoodie that has a gray hood/ gray arms, gray stripe down the middle, and a black waistband, white shirt under the hoodie, and checkered underwear exposed on the back side from his sweatpants hanging down. The accused has an Old Navy dark color backpack with OLD NAVY written across it in white and an emblem which appears to be โwingsโ underneath it.

In the early morning hours of May 3rd, 2018, a homicide occurred on the 3600 block of Lucie Street within the City of Lansing. It was later determined that Anthony Cleavon Stitt was shot and killed on his property. There is no suspect information at this time, but it is believed that this was a targeted act of violence.

Homicide Investigation
Sheriff Steve Rand reports on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 3:27 a.m., deputies from the Jackson County Sheriffโs Office, Along with Grass Lake Fire and Jackson Community Ambulance responded to a fight with injuries at a field party in the 4000 block of Fishville Rd. in Grass Lake Township. While deputies were on scene, three victims arrived to Henry Ford Allegiance with various degrees of injuries. One victim, an 18 year old Jackson man, died at the hospital. Two other victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Major Crimes Task Force was activated for this incident, this unit consists of Detectives from the Sheriffโs Office, Michigan State Police, Jackson City Police Department and Blackman Leoni Township Department of Public Safety. Jackson County Sheriff is the lead agency on this incident. Detectives have identified and interviewed well over 100 partygoers. Detectives are asking for help in identifying and interviewing numerous other people who attended the party. Due to the prevalence of electronic devices, Detectives are also looking for any additional video evidence party attendeeโs may have. On 4-13-18, the Indiana State Police and Indiana DNR officers responded to the Trine Recreation Area of the Pokagon State Park in Fremont, Indiana after the discovery of a body. The body, later
identified as 28 year old Nigel Jerome Headley, was found near a wetland inside the park. Mr. Headleyโs last known address was in the Lansing, MI area.
This investigation is on-going by the Lansing Police Department, Michigan State Police and FBI with the assistance of the Indiana State Police and Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
